Paul heads up one of our tax consulting teams and delivers a broad range of professional services to a diverse client base including graziers, cane farmers, specialist professional service firms and practices and small to medium enterprises.
Paul regularly completes western trips to the firms rural clients in the Julia Creek, Richmond and Hughenden areas, and services clients from Cloncurry in the West to Croydon in the North and Emerald in the South.
Paul's qualifications and experience:
Originally raised in the Burdekin region, Paul joined Ross Maclean and John Kerrisk in partnership in 2000 after gaining experience in an International Chartered Accountancy firm.
He has in excess of 30 years’ experience advising clients predominantly in rural, building and construction, specialist professional service firms and practices and small to medium enterprises.
He has a high level of skills in all forms of taxation including income, capital gains, goods and services and fringe benefits tax.
Paul is married to Rachele and his interests include bike riding, table tennis, all sorts of fishing and following the North Queensland Cowboys.

John Kerrisk is one of five Partners at Maclean Partners. John heads up the specialised tax consulting teams, small business advisory and is also the lead adviser in Self-Managed Super Fund Strategic Advice.
Within John's position, his high level of skills cover a range of areas, primarily in small business revolving around compliance work, business advisory consulting and superannuation/SMSF. His role involves making sure that small businesses are compliant with the tax laws and also in helping small business owners master the art of a successful business.
John's qualifications and experience:
John has also been Finance Committee Chairman and then Chairman of the Board of Ryan Catholic College.
John enjoys the solitude of long distance running and has completed 6 full marathons and 1 ultra-marathon. He also has a keen sense of rhythm and can be found Salsa dancing on a Thursday night.

Tina is a Director and the Business Manager of Maclean Partners providing diligent and caring management of the directors and staff of the firm, including driving our technology and efficiency evolution.
As one of our longest serving team members, Tina originally joined Maclean Partners in 1992 as a taxation accountant after gaining experience with the Townsville branch of a large North Queensland based chartered accountancy firm. In 2021, she became a Director of the firm and continues to manage the business and the team. She believes developing our people, keeping them engaged and motivated is an integral part of making the business a successful one and a great place to work.
Tina's qualifications and experience:
Away from the office, Tina is a mum to twin adult daughters. With her partner Dave, they enjoy camping, caravanning and boating. She also enjoys spending time with family, has a keen eye for photography and hitting the craft table.

Andrew is the one of the Directors and the lead adviser in our financial planning team and is passionate about building long-term relationships with his clients. Andrew enjoys working closely with clients and their other related professional advisers in order to better understand and achieve their long term financial goals and objectives together.
Andrew's qualifications and experience are:
Andrew is responsible for financial planning, superannuation, insurance and loans. Andrew's association with the financial sector began in 1988 with Westpac, prior to completing his Commerce degree and gaining employment in taxation and auditing. Andrew has been involved in the ownership and management of two successful franchise businesses before returning to the financial sector in 2010.
Born and raised on a cattle and sheep property south of Hughenden, Andrew's family continues to operate the family property and he has a very sound practical understanding of the challenges facing farming families.
Andrew is married to Corinn and they have four children together. Andrew also has four children from a previous marriage, so when he does have some spare time he likes to hit the golf course!

Shane is a dedicated accountant who is passionate about numbers and helping people manage their finances. With years of experience in the industry, Shane has developed a keen eye for detail and an analytical mindset that allows him to navigate complex financial situations with ease.
Shane began with Maclean Partners in 2011 as a graduate accountant. He worked his way up to Manager of our Charters Towers office in 2016 and we welcomed him as our newest director in 2023.

When he's not crunching numbers or balancing ledgers, Shane enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly fishing around the beautiful islands. He finds that being out on the water helps him clear his mind and recharge his batteries.
Shane is happily married to his wife and together, they have two young children. As a devoted family man, Shane enjoys spending time with his loved ones, whether it's watching movies, playing board games, or simply exploring the great outdoors.
Overall, Shane is a reliable and dedicated professional who brings his passion for finance and his love for the outdoors to everything he does.

Ross originally commenced the firm of Ross Maclean & Associates in 1985 which changed its name to Maclean Partners Chartered Accountants in 2000.
His focus is on providing advice to clients on business structuring and taxation planning, family farm intergenerational succession, estate planning, self-managed superannuation funds, financial planning strategies and business development.
Ross's qualifications and accreditations include:
Ross has over 40 year's involvement in advising a wide range of clients including graziers and business people in North Queensland. His empathy with rural clients comes from having been born and raised on a cattle property in the Charters Towers district.
In 2021, he stepped back from his full time position with the firm and commenced in a consultancy role. He continues to be closely involved with the firm concentrating on the special needs of a small number of his long term clients and remains available to provide input in areas where his experience and knowledge can be utilised.
His community involvement includes being the Chairman of the Board of All Souls St Gabriels Ltd, the not for profit company that owns the school campus of All Souls St Gabriels in Charters Towers. He was heavily involved with advising the group that in 2000 fought to save the school when it was threatened with closure by the Anglican Church.
Ross and Gail both enjoy travel and experiencing new adventures. Since he has become less closely involved with the firm on a day to day basis, they are hoping to be able to do more of this sharing it with good company, good food and good wine.

Roxanne is one of the financial planners within our financial planning team. Roxanne has been working as a Financial Planner since 2015 and prides herself on providing holistic advice to all clients. She has extensive knowledge around personal insurances, superannuation, and retirement planning.
Roxanne's qualifications and experience are:
Roxanne commenced her career in Sydney, where she met her now husband and relocated to Townsville.
In her spare time, Roxanne loves spending time with her daughter Adeline and taking her to all her extra-curricular activities which include ballet, singing and dancing. In the small amount of time she has to herself Roxanne enjoys going to the gym and is extremely passionate about health and fitness.

Michelle is the manager of one of our taxation compliance teams.
Born and raised on the Atherton Tablelands, Michelle’s parents, now retired, operated a successful plumbing, plumbing supplies, and sheet metal fabrication business. This business employed numerous staff for over 30 years, and this provided Michelle with firsthand experience and insight into the day-to-day operation of small businesses as well as the associated challenges they can bring.
In 1988 Michelle moved to Townsville to undertake a Commerce Degree at James Cook University and has resided in Townsville since then. We could almost call her a local now.
Michelle's qualifications and experience:
Michelle's career commenced as a graduate accountant in a Townsville accounting firm. There she acquired the foundations of her accounting and taxation skills. Her skills and experience were developed over the next 15 years during her accounting position. Looking for a new challenge Michelle commenced employment with Maclean Partners in March 2009.
Throughout her career Michelle has gained vast experience and enjoyed great job satisfaction through advising businesses in the areas of taxation, business management, superannuation, audits (including BSA), and other areas including the development of excellent inter-personal skills with clients.
Somewhere during Michelle's career, she has found time to marry her husband Aaron (a city slicker from Brisbane) and raise two sons, now adults who are pursuing their own careers as a boilermaker and carpenter. She now has plenty of time to enjoy travelling with her husband, reading, and just spending time with her family.

Corynne is the manager of the Superannuation team at Maclean Partners.
Starting her career as an Accountant in a Tully accounting firm in 2001, Corynne acquired the foundations of her keen interest in accounting and taxation. Corynne accepted a position with Maclean Partners in Townsville in April 2004. Whilst working at Maclean Partners, she completed her B.Comm degree through the University of Southern Queensland in 2005. She has since achieved her CPA and has gained over 15 years of experience in accounting, taxation and self-managed super funds, bringing vital skills to her clients.
Corynne's qualifications and experience:
Throughout her career Corynne has gained a reputation for being a proactive and solution-driven Accountant, advising her extensive clientele and mentoring her team in the areas of taxation, business management and superannuation.
Corynne, Anthony and their two thriving young daughters love everything that Townsville offers with tropical beaches, sunshine and an active outdoors lifestyle. Corynne is also a self-confessed bookwork lover (I mean bookworm!!!), with a passion for understanding the storyline of every book, balance sheet.

Helen was first employed by Maclean Partners in an administration role in 1987. She moved away to Adelaide with her husband Paul, for a period of time during which her three children were born.
She returned to our employment upon returning to Townsville and since then has developed extensive skills in financial planning, in particular para-planning within our financial planning division of Maclean Partners.
Helen now has over 20 years of client knowledge (and grown children) and is always striving to assist our clients, and her family, in achieving their personal and financial goals.

An experienced and knowledgeable Bookkeeper, Monica heads up our bookkeeping team and supports our clients in keeping their books up to date – so they can focus on running the business they love.
With over 20 years’ experience, Monica commenced her bookkeeping career in 2000, working with a major vehicle dealership in Townsville.
She then worked at various small & medium entities across multiple industries, expanding her skills. Monica joined the team at Macleans in September 2022 and now runs the team of five bookkeepers.

Born & raised in Townsville, when Monica is not balancing ledgers and preparing BAS lodgements she is a busy mother to three boys (read taxi driver to various sport & extra-curricular activities).

Cherie is one of our managers of our taxation compliance teams.
Growing up on a Sheep and Cattle property South of Julia Creek, where her parents still live and work the land, Cherie completed her schooling through School of Air for primary school and boarding school at Blackheath and Thornbrugh College in Charters Towers for high school .
Cherie moved to Townsville in 2001 to commence her university degree at James Cook University and she hasn't left yet.
Cherie’s qualifications and experience include:
Starting her employment at Maclean Partners in 2002 as a part-time filing girl whilst completing her uni degree, Cherie soon moved across to working as an accountant. Over the years she has also worked in the Building and Construction Industry and the Software start up industries.
Cherie loves to take her two kids (Sarah and Aden) out to the family property to show them the country lifestyle, how she grew up and to get some dirt on their clothes. "I think it helps give them perspective of where their food comes from. Thanks to flexible working arrangements, I’m also able to work remotely from the property."
Keeping busy raising two kids and two dogs, Cherie tries to find spare time to enjoy hiking, exploring all the beautiful waterfalls North Queensland has to offer, gardening and tending to her indoor plants.

Michelle grew up in Agnes Water, back when it was a tiny beachside town with no modern facilities. She attended boarding school at Rockhampton Girls Grammar where she completed her high school education, achieving top marks across math & science.
After taking a step back to figure her future career, she fell into a bookkeeping role & soon found a passion for the numbers. She worked for various small businesses across a wide range of industries before finding a job with a local Rockhampton accounting firm. She completed her Bachelor of Accounting and Chartered Accountants’ degrees whilst working full time and worked her way up through the firm where she spent the next 19 years. In 2024 she decided on a change and came to Maclean Partners where she works remotely, helping out her team and our clients thanks to the wonders of modern technology.
Michelle’s qualifications and experience include:
Over the years Michelle has developed great working relationships with her clients by striving to provide good old-fashioned service. She believes in providing high quality outcomes and aims to break down the jargon so that her clients can understand what’s going on in their business. She believes whilst we might spend our days working with numbers, it’s actually the people that really matter.
Michelle likes to balance out the hours spent at a desk by getting outside and enjoying the sport of triathlon. Having completed her first Ironman in New Zealand in 2024, she is also on the committee of the local triathlon club, organising events to enable others to get involved in the sport. She loves seeing other women overcome their fears & doubts and see them discover just how capable and courageous they can be if they just give it a try.
